Reflection test
homework: complete p. 2 in new package on rearranging equations and complex conversions. (period G: also do the section on p. 4 on Sine).
(No class for B on Wed Dec 4)/ G: Thurs Dec 5
We had a short lesson on sine (p. 3, new package), then had class time to do p. 2 of NEW Refraction package on rearranging equations and complex conversions. Then we had a introduction to Refraction (p. 5) then did study for the Reflection test.
PERIOD B TEST IS MOVED TO MONDAY DEC 9 (Even if there is school on Wednesday, we will not do the Test on Wednesday, we will do a lesson instead).PERIOD G TEST WILL BE MOVED TO TUESDAY DEC 10.
Homework: Study for Reflection Test
To be finished for the class after the test: p. 2, p.4 sine exercises.
B: Mon Dec 2/ G: Tues Dec 3
We went over the homework (p. 501), then started some preparation for our refraction unit (new notes package p. 1-2). Time was given in class to complete p. 2 on Rearranging equations and doing complex conversions. After the work, students were given time to do Reflection Test Review.
Homework: Do p. 2 of NEW Refraction package on rearranging equations and complex conversions, then do study for the test.B: Thurs Nov 28/ G: Fri Nov 29
We went over the curved mirror diagrams from p. 8 and 9, then we did a lesson/note on advantages/disadvantages and uses of curved mirrors (p. 10-11)
Homework: Do textbook questions on p. 501 Q #2,3,5,6,7,9,10B: Tues Nov 26/ G: Wed Nov 27
We did a lesson on how to draw diagrams showing images formed with convex and concave mirrors (notes p. 6-7). Those students that were absent for the curved mirrors lab did that lab in the 2nd half of class.
Homework: Do ALL diagrams on p. 8; Do 1st and 3rd diagram on p. 9.Complete focal length of a curved mirror lab and hand in.
B: Fri Nov 22/ G: Mon Nov 25
We did a lesson on parts of concave and convex mirrors. Then we did a lab activity on finding the focal length of a curved mirror. (p. 6)
Homework: For those in class: no homework. For those period B students that were absent, copy curved mirror note on p. 6 from the website so that you are ready to do the lab next class
B: Wed Nov 20/ G: Thurs Nov 21
We had a quiz on p. 1-2 notes. We did a lesson that covered Laws of reflection, diffuse vs. specular reflection and how to draw how the eye sees an image in a plane mirror, and describing image characteristics using SALT.(p. 3-4)
Homework: .Drawing Practice p. 4-5B: Mon Nov 18/ G: Tues Nov 19
We did a short lesson on the ray model of light (p. 2-3). Then we did a lab on Reflection of Light in plane mirrors.
Homework: .Study notes p. 1-2 for quiz next class.B: Nov 11/ G: Tues Nov 12
We did the introduction to light in a new notes package. p. 1 (textbook material is 11.1 in chapter 11). We did the pH/indicators lab and the analysis. Marks were posted for the report card.
Homework: Textbook Q. p. 469 Q #1,4,5,9,11. Optional: Read 11.1 in textbook.
