Posted work for Jun 1-5

Grade 10 Science:
a)  Assessment :  We have finished the Tissues and Systems unit.  Check your email box on Tuesday for your score on the Tissues and Systems test.

b)  Lesson:  (Choose 1 of the following)
Option 1:  Virtual Frog Dissection
A handout explaining the dissection and giving an observations chart:

Video links
5 min video on external features of the frog:

30 min video  on the opening and internal features of frog.

7 min video reviewing frog anatomy

(Next week you'll get a chance to try a "Frog Pinquiz"  which is an identification exercise common in biology.  This will be great practice if you have signed up for grade 11 biology.)

Option 2: Science Career/ Post Secondary Programs Exploration.
i)  Go onto "MyBlueprintNavigate:  Post-secondary >Work>Occupations> Career Cluster > either"Health Science" or "Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics".  A number of careers will be listed.  Click on the careers that interest you.  You can then follow links to what education/training you need,  what institutions/programs are offered and then can click on those institutions to get detailed information on requirements.

Here's a handout to summarize your findings.

ii)  Check out Medical/Health Careers (Besides the obvious Doctor/Nurse)
at Michener Institute  https://michener.ca/
This is in downtown Toronto and has a number of programs some straight out of high school,  some entry after 2-3 years of University studies and some are post-graduate (ie.  You get a University degree and then you go there).  If you are interested in a Health Career but not necessarily a doctor or Nurse, this might give you ideas)

June 8-12 is the last week of new material in science.  For those that opted for the Frog dissection, you can do the on-line "Frog Pinquiz".  For those that opted for the Career, Program research option, you can fill out the handout and email it to me (as an attached picture or as an attached word document).  Due date for completion of either of these two options is June 12

Truncated Organic notes package (9 pages):
9 page Organic Chemistry 2020 pkg

"Hydrocarbon Properties" is the last topic of the year.  June 8-12 we will do a bit of Organic review and then have at the end of that week on Organic Mini-test on June 11-12
