We did part I of the Chemistry Test. on Tuesday Oct 8 we will do the Naming/Formulas part and then do the analysis for the Ion Testing lab.

We took up the acid worksheet (p. 19). We had a quiz. (which was passed back the same class). Then we discussed the Test on Mon. (p. 2 of the notes package is NOT covered).
We took up the Pre-lab questions from the ion-testing lab. A practice test was given to prepare for the test on Monday. Answers to the practice test, as well as the last nomenclature review (p.21) is on this website.
B: Wed Oct 2
We took up the 1st Review worksheet (p. 21). Then we discussed the Test on Friday. (p. 2 of the notes package is NOT covered).
We did the lab-work for an ion-testing lab, but did NOT do the analysis yet.
Since an Assembly will shorten our test period, the Friday Oct 4 Test will NOT include chemical formulas and names (nomenclature).
A separate mini-test on names and formulas will be on Tuesday Oct 8

We had a quiz on molecular and binary ionic formulas/names, took up p. 17-18 on complex ion compounds. had a short lesson on acids (p. 19), we then reviewed (using a flow chart) all the types of nomenclature.
Teacher performed demos as part I of an Ion Testing lab and we completed the Prelab questions in class.
Homework:
Be ready for quiz Thursday on Complex ions and Acids.
Fill in nomenclature review exercises on p. 21 of notes.
