Wed Jan 15
We took up both Reactions labs as well as p. 10 (Predicting Reactions).  Then we started the unit (Moles unit) with a new package and the lesson on the first page (Isotopes and Atomic mass). Bring these Moles notes to Test to work on if you finish early.
homework: 
Prepare for test by studying notes and trying the Reactions Practice test  (on this site) (complete in 50 minutes under test conditions).

Mon Jan 13
We did the chemical reactions lab II and the lab quiz.
homework: 
Do Review for Chemical Reactions Unit test. Look over the homework on p. 10 and p. 14.  We will take up any specific questions you have on these two pages. 
Any students that missed the Chemical Reactions Lab I on Thursday must make it up on Monday Jan 13 in room 212.  Come at the beginning of lunch.

Thurs Jan 9
We did the chemical reactions lab I and the lab quiz.
homework: 
Do p. 14 (Writing chemical reactions of all 5 types)
Be ready for the Chemical Reactions lab II (based on p. 7-9) next class (lab quiz same day)

Tues Jan 7
We took up selected questions on p. 9 on writing single and double displacement reactions.  Then we watched the Nova video "Kaboom" (https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=nova+kaboom ) and filled in p. 12-13 in the notes. Lab and lab quiz next class on synthesis, decomposition and combustion reactions.
homework: 
Review p. 5-6 (try the even questions on p. 6 to prep for the lab quiz)
Do p. 11 on classifying all 5 types of reaction.

Fri Dec 20
No lesson.  We will work on p. 10 (predicting reactions).  Extra help will be available for those students who need it.
homework:  No homework for the break.  Have a Merry Christmas!

We covered Single and Double Displacement reactions,  the Activity Series and predicting whether single displacement or double displacement reactions occur.
